Five migration acceptance checks
01

Fields: types, keys, and grain

02

Metrics: formulas, time, filters

03

History: backfill and reconciliation

04

Access: roles and scopes

05

Downstream: reports, alerts, exports

A connector swap is not a migration

When an ERP, database, or commerce source changes, equal field names do not mean equal semantics. Order status, refunds, inventory, and time fields can all shift and break historical trends.

Create a source mapping and difference log before deciding which reports need recomputation.

Reconcile grain and definitions first

Compare the same time window for row counts, key uniqueness, amounts, time zones, statuses, and missing values. Separate real business change from migration error.

Keep the old source read-only for a parallel period so a mismatch can be localized.

Move governance and dependencies

Remap organization, project, store, and sensitive-field permissions. Check scheduled reports, alerts, exports, and caches one by one. BI0’s integrated positioning may reduce tool stitching, but migration scope and connector support still require a POC.

Define rollback criteria

Version the mapping, owner, approval, failure recovery, and rollback date. Retire the old source only after metric reconciliation, permission tests, and downstream publishing all pass.
